Curious to Go Dry this July?

Dry July got you thinking of a health and wellness reset? Whether you’re partaking or not, we’re challenging you to give your liver a break or try forming some healthy new habits this month for your best Me Today. We’ve got tips that are not only good for your liver but for your whole body, on the inside and outside. Here’s five of our top suggestions for a mid-winter wellness kick this Dry July. 
  1. Get sober curious! Take part in Dry July or try reducing your alcohol consumption for the month. There is a huge variety of low and no-alcohol options so you’re bound to find something to stand in for your go-to (we’re big fans of AF Drinks). Go a step further and try a milk thistle tea or herbal supplement to support your healthy liver detox and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water.
  2. Get moving! This winter weather might have you more inclined to curl up and hibernate until summer, but it’s a great time to get out and get active. Try adding a brisk walk or jog to your daily routine. Or, if you’re lacking a little motivation, signing up to a group fitness class or bootcamp could be just the thing to kickstart a new healthy habit.
  3. Get your 5+ a day. Make a conscious effort to make sure you are getting five or more servings of fruit and vege into your diet everyday, and remember, the more colours the better! A quick and colourful breakfast smoothie is a great way to get a head start on your 5+ a day, and you can easily sneak in an extra serving of super greens while you’re at it.   4. Get on top of your skincare. Consider changing up your skincare products to suit the more drying winter air. If you haven’t already, starting a simple skincare routine can work wonders for your skin.   5. Get started. Whatever healthy habit you want to incorporate into your everyday, the hardest thing is often just getting started. Find a friend to join you on your new health journey. Having a buddy to help motivate each other or hold you accountable (from our experience) can make a big difference in whether you stick with your new lifestyle or not.
